Ibuprofen Lysine

What is this medication used for?

This medication contains Ibuprofen Lysine, a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It works by relieving pain and swelling.

It is useful for relieving rheumatic or muscle pain, backache, neuralgia, migraine, headache, tooth pain, period pain, and cold and flu symptoms.

Before you take this medicine

Adults and teenagers may use this medication (aged 12-18 years old). Certain individuals, however, should avoid taking this medication or should seek the counsel of their pharmacist or physician beforehand.

Avoid taking:

  • If you currently have or had a stomach ulcer, perforation, or bleeding stomach, or if you have had one or more of these conditions twice in the past
  • If you have experienced perforation or bleeding in the stomach as a result of using a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (you might have been sick and it contained blood or dark particles that look like coffee grounds, passed blood in your stools, or passed black tarry stools)
  • If you’re allergic to ibuprofen or any of the product’s other ingredients, aspirin, or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medications, do not use this product (you’ve ever had a runny nose, itchy skin, or swelling of the lips, asthma, face, or throat after taking these medicines)
  • If you’re using aspirin in a daily dose greater than 75 mg or any other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medication, consult your physician.
  • Consult your physician if you suffer serious heart, renal, or liver failure.
  • If you are pregnant and in the latter three months of gestation,

Consult your pharmacist or physician:

  • Consult your physician immediately if you have asthma, a family history of asthma or any allergic condition, gastrointestinal issues, Crohn’s disease, or ulcerative colitis.
  • If you have any other problems with your kidneys, heart, or liver (“Do not take”)
  • If you have a connective tissue illness such as systemic lupus erythematosus (Systemic Lupus Erythematosus)
  • If you are elderly, you may experience more adverse effects.
  • If you are currently taking any other pain medications or receiving regular therapy from a physician.
  • If you have heart problems, such as heart failure or angina (chest pain), or if you have had a heart attack, peripheral artery disease, bypass surgery (inadequate flow in the legs or feet due to narrowed or blocked boulevard), and any kind of stroke (including mini-stroke’ or transient ischemic attack “TIA”), see ‘Risk of heart attack or stroke’ under Other Important Information.
  • If you have hypertension, diabetes, or high cholesterol, or if you have a family record of heart disease or stroke, maybe you smoke
  • If you are pregnant and within the first six months of gestation,
  • Children and adolescents: Dehydrated teenagers are at risk of renal damage.

Breastfeeding: You can take this medicine.

Women of childbearing age: This medication may impair your ability to conceive. When you stop using the medication, this effect will be reversed.

If you take more tablets than recommended or if children accidentally take this medication, always consult a doctor or nearby hospital for an assessment of the risk and advice on appropriate action.
